Zera Starchild in Media

"Power to the People" at Golden Gate Park
48 Hills covered Zera Starchild's set at the 50th Annual San Francisco Free Folk Festival, calling it one of the day's most distinctive performances. Backed by a lead guitarist at the Golden Gate Bandshell, she folded the cadence and lyricism of hip-hop into folk guitar and opened with a raised fist and a call of "Power to the people." The set included "Hands Up," written in response to the humanitarian aid boats attempting to reach Gaza, alongside a conversation about the Gen Z audience finding her work on TikTok.
